Lyndsay Babcock - Director & Principal Psychologist

Lyndsay Babcock is Founder/Director and Principal Psychologist at The Self Centre.  
 
Lyndsay has been in private practice for 12+ years.  She opened Lyndsay Babcock Psychology in 2014, which later became “The Self Centre”.  Lyndsay aims to help people develop a more fulfilling, authentic, and enjoyable life.
 
Lyndsay has a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and enjoys building therapeutic relationships, and supporting people who looking to enrich their lives.  
 She uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic and Attachment Theory, Family Systems, and Positive Psychology approach
 
Lyndsay has worked for over a decade offering counselling to men and women who want to better understand themselves in relation to others, who want to explore how their childhood has impacted their current relationships, and who would like to change old and pattered behaviours to live a more purposeful, fulfilling and enriched life.  She also has experience treating anxiety (including OCD and panic disorder), depression, personality disorders, adjustment disorder, attachment difficulties, interpersonal and relationship distress.

Sharmila Wagh-D’Silva - Clinical Psychologist

Sharmila is a warm and experienced clinical Psychologist who enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to develop greater self-awareness and wellbeing. She helps people navigate various life transitions by providing evidence-based strategies to enhance their strengths and resilience.

Sharmila, has experience working with anxiety, depression, stress and adjustment disorders, interpersonal difficulties, acculturation issues, grief and loss.

Sharmila uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness strategies when working with her clients.

Carey Little - Psychologist (Clinical Registrar)

Carey is a welcoming and engaging Psychologist who likes to work collaboratively with clients to assist them in reconnecting to inner strengths and skills and build resilience to increase their enjoyment of life.  Carey also believes it is important to assist clients to find fun and laughter in every day, a commitment she makes in her own life.

Carey has had experience working with many different people; in particular adolescents and young people, the LGBTQI community, refugee/refugee-like and migrant community members, and those experiencing chronic illness or pain, adjustment issues, depression and anxiety.

Larissa Kirpichnikov - Consulting Psychologist

Larissa is a registered, practising Psychologist with more than 18 years working in educational, government, commercial and private practices across Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.

She has a focus on adolescent, young adult, adult and couple wellbeing. Larissa uses an eclectic and holistic approach to ensure that psychotherapy is a collaborative, safe and empathic experience for her clients. She finds it extremely fulfilling to work in a field that she loves, with the opportunity to provide a safe place for reflection, insight and growth.

She has experience in a wide range of issues and her areas of interest are anxiety, depression, relationships, stress management, grief and loss, emotional management, anger, identity, social skills, change and transition, assertive communication, performance, conflict resolution and work-life balance.

Larissa is well versed in a number of evidence based techniques and is able to integrate them into her practice. Michelle Jones is our highly dedicated, personable customer care manager.  Michelle brings many years of medical administration experience to The Self Centre team.  

She is dedicated to making sure the client experience is comfortable from beginning to end. 

Michelle supports The Self Centre team by being the front person on our phones, ensuring all client queries are responded to in a timely, friendly, and respectful manner.  She liaises with our Team and clients to ensure high standards of customer care are achieved at all times.
